100 Self-Date Activities

One of the keys to true happiness is learning to enjoy your own company, and this list of 100 self-date activities will help you do just that. Whether you have one friend or one hundred, and whether you’re introverted or extroverted, feeling comfortable spending time alone is the ultimate sign of self-love.

Choosing to spend time on your own reflects a respect for your boundaries and interests. Traditional dates are great, but they often require compromise – and sometimes, we just don’t want to, and that’s okay! Solo dates, on the other hand, involve no compromise because there’s no one else to please. With 100 self-date activities to choose from, you’ll easily find one that aligns with exactly what you want to do.

Self-dates also allow you to connect with yourself on a deeper level. By trying out different activities, you’ll discover more about your likes and dislikes, and you might even pick up a new hobby or two along the way.

One of my goals this year is to prioritise self-dates, which is why I’ve created a list of 100 self-date activities to work through over the year. I encourage you to do the same – by the end of the year, you’ll feel more in tune with your true self than ever before.

This list includes all sorts of solo dates, so you can pick depending on your mood (and the weather!). From chilling at home to getting your adrenaline pumping, this article includes all you need to create your solo date bucket list.

Before we get into the 100 self-date activities, here’s some tips on how to get the most your solo dates.

100 Self-Date Activities: Tips for making the Most of your date

1. Be present

Solo dates are all about getting to know yourself, and it can be difficult to do this if your thoughts are focused on other people, work, or a pile of laundry you need to sort through.

So, however difficult it might be, try to practise mindfulness while you’re on your solo date. Put your phone on Do Not Disturb and focus on whatever you’re doing – it will make a difference!

2. Set an intention

Setting an intention will help you to get more out of your solo date. Whether your intention is to relax, get creative, or just have fun, choosing something to focus on will ultimately help the date feel more fulfilling.

3. Treat it like a real date

Treating your solo date as if it’s a real date is crucial for distinguishing it from your average alone time. Get dressed up if it makes you feel good, and make an effort to make it as exciting as possible!

4. Step out of your comfort zone

Doing things on our own that we would typically only do with company requires that you embrace the discomfort. It might feel a little nerve-wrecking the first few times, but as you make your way through the list you’ll grow in confidence and slowly start to fall in love with alone time.

5. Reflect afterwards

Take 5 or 10 minutes after your solo date to reflect on the experience. Ask yourself if you enjoyed it, which parts you liked or didn’t like, and what you learnt about yourself. Jotting your thoughts down in a journal will help you process the experience, plus you’ll have a record of your journey to self-discovery.

Now that you’re equipped with all the tips you need, let’s get in to the 100 self-date activities.
